Cara memotivasikan diri untuk ber Cloth Diapers & Cloth Pads

MOTIVASI UNTUK PENGGUNAAN CLOTH DIAPERS

  1.   Mulakan dengan menggunakan CD pada waktu  malam (at least anda hanya memerlukan sedikit CD & masa yang sedikit untuk membasuh CD)à terutamanya untuk ibu yang bekerjaya & masih ingin melalui asuhan alami.

2.       Pada hujung minggu, anda boleh menggunakan sepenuhnya CD untuk anak anda (jika pengasuh/ nursery anak  anda tidak mahu mengendalikan CD)

3.       Membeli CD pelbagai jenis system & design yang menarik serta bewarna-warni (anda akan sangat teruja kerana melihat anak anda memakai lampin kain bercorak, bukannya plastik! Akan nampak lebih comel bila pakai CD tanpa seluar). Ada sesetengah system sangat praktikal & mudah even untuk dikendalikan oleh pengasuh/ nursery.

MOTIVASI UNTUK PENGGUNAAN CLOTH PADS

1.       Mulakan dengan menggunakan pantyliner atau light pad, terutamanya ketika di hujung flow menstrual

2.       Gunakan CP ketika anda berada di rumah pada hujung minggu ( untuk lebih konfiden ketika memakai CP, in case kalau bocor etc)

3.       Selepas anda betul-betul selesa, bolehlah menambah pelbagai koleksi fabric CP ( minky, microfleece, bamboo charcoal, bamboo, flannel)

4.       Sediakan CP every time dalam handbag ye, kalau menstrual tetiba datang CP adalah penyelamat anda!

P/S: Selalunya Green Mommy  yang menggunakan CD untuk bayi akan menggunakan CP juga untuk merasai kelembutan & keselesaan cloth pads..Go Go Green !!!

Cloth Wipes Solution Recipe

Almond 'n' Chamomile

Steep the tea bags in the hot water then add the oil.
2 chamomile tea bags
2 teaspoons almond oil
2 cups hot water

Anti-Fungal

Omit vinegar if baby has a raw rash.
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon calendula oil
A few drops lavender oil
A few drops tea tree oil
1/4 cup 100% aloe vera gel
1 cup water

Anti-Fungal Too

Similar to the other anti-fungal recipe, but less vinegar and water.
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon calendula oil
A few drops lavender oil
A few drops tea tree oil
1/4 cup 100% aloe vera gel
1/2 cup water

Basic Wipe Solution

This basic recipe can be adapted by changing the type of soap or oil.
1/2 cup baby oil
1/2 cup baby wash
2 cups water

Castile Solution

Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap comes in several yummy scents!
1 tablespoon almond, apricot, or other oil
1 tablespoon Dr Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap
2 drops tea tree oil
1 drop lavender oil
1 cup water

Chamomile 'n' Honey

Brew the tea, add the honey, and drink any leftovers!
1 chamomile tea bag
1 teaspoon honey
1 cup boiling water

Easy Peasy

Just three simple ingredients...
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons baby wash
1 1/2 cups water
Warning: This recipe may cause repelling and absorbency issues for diapers with synthetic inners (ie microfleece and suedecloth) so use with caution. Thanks to Lauren B. for pointing this out to us!

Eight is Great

Similar ingredients as other recipes, but in different amounts.
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1/8 cup baby wash
8 drops lavender oil
4 drops tea tree oil
2 cups water

Dioxin & Sodium Polyacrylate in disposable diapers & pads?

Most parents have heard about the dangers of BPA in infant bottles, and as such, stores usually sell BPA-free options.  However, there are other dangers that parents do not yet know about.
Disposable diapers pose a health risk to children.  We have previously reported on sanitary pads and tampons causing endometriosis through dioxin exposure.  Dioxins are a byproduct of chlorine, which is used during the bleaching process.  Dioxins accumulate in the body throughout the lifetime of victims.  Dioxin exposure as a child will impede the immune system of the individual forever.  It means that they will never be as strong as they should have been.  Dioxins are responsible for a range of reproductive and developmental problems, damaging the immune system, along with causing major hormonal imbalances and cancer.  Many infants are now exposed to dioxins 24 hours a day, and yet society wonders why girls are beginning puberty younger than ever, and hormonal disorders are becoming increasingly common in children.
Unfortunately, dioxin is not the only issue with disposable diapers.  Sodium Polyacrylate is an absorbent gel that is responsible for absorbing moisture inside the diaper.  It was once present in tampons, but was removed for causing Toxic Shock Syndrome.  Sodium polyacrylate has been implicated as a contributing factor of staph infections.  It is a skin irritant, because it is able to absorb all of the oils and moisture from the skin, yielding a drying effect.  It is no surprise, then, that problems like diaper rash are almost non-existent for babies having cloth diapers.  The effects of topical exposure to sodium polyacrylate have only been minimally studied, so we do not yet know what damage it is doing.  For the interest of our children, it is wise to err on the side of caution.
There are a variety of different dying agents used in diapers, ranging from indicators informing the parent of wetness, to colored patterns for improved appearances.  Infants are showing allergic reactions to these diapers, and parents of these children are typically unable to identify the diapers as the cause.  It is not uncommon for steroid creams to be used to treat these allergic reactions, with neither the doctor nor parent suspecting involvement by chemical dyes.
We strongly recommend that people look into the possibility of using cloth diapers, or at the very least, purchase unbleached, dye-free disposable diapers at a specialty or health food store.  The health of our children is worth the minor inconvenience.

Saya dulu mula ber-CD masa Adam umur 1 bulan, sebab masa dalam pantang baby akan selalu Poopoo..Larat la sangat nak basuh, tapi memang bukan sendiri yang basuh..Hehe..Of course la mama yang tolong basuhkan masa dalam pantang..Yang best, mama memang support abes guna CD ni..1 more thing, Adam masa tu memang halussss so memang gedabak la pakai CD..Barut sentiasa basah sebab serap pee pee from CD..Huhu.. Yela, that time tak tau ada CD untuk new born..Yang tau, ada pocket diaper jenis fabric PUL &minky..Masa tu stok memang ada 10 pcs je, 5 pcs minky snap button &5 pcs jenis Velcro..Now, memang sangat jatuh chenta ngan CD..Macam2 jenis available as saya state above..Semua jenis dah try Cuma jenis fitted/ pre-fold je belum..

From others experience, jenis pre-fold/ flat sesuai untuk new born sebab 1set pre-fold comes with around 5 pc insert &1 cover (brand Flip maybe)..New born kan selalu poo, so just tukarkan insert yang dilipat 3 segi atau 4segi pastu letak atas cover, then just snap pada baby..Jenis pre-fold ni memang macam dulu2 punya lampin, tapi insert nya lebih menyerap berbanding kain lampin biasa.. Moden kan?

Kalau jenis pocket pulak selalunya one-size (ada button untuk adjust from nb-up to 17kg)—jenis QQ Baby.. Pada saya jenis pocket sesuai untuk lebih penjimatan, baby boleh pakai sampai umur 2 tahun depends on berat/ badan juga la..Then, jenis ni juga sesuai sebab kita boleh pilih jenis insert/ penyerap berdasarkan habit anak samada jenis normal wetter, heavy wetter or night used..Kalau day time, saya guna insert microfiber (mf) je.. Cuma bila malam saya akan guna 2 insert/ 1 insert bamboo sebab kekadang terlupa malam nak salin CD Adam (dlm erti kata lain sangat mengantuk+ malas)..Haha..Setakat ni Adam bukan la jenis heavy wetter, not the time yet..Huhu..

AI2 jenama GroVia memang sangat umphhhhhh..Hehehe..Leak guard pada peha sangat membantu bila Adam poo poo..Just snap other soaker kalau shell tak soiled..Tak nampak bulky, sangat nice sebab Adam bukan jenis peha drumstick..Cuma soaker organic ni memang lambat kering kalau basuh, that’s because penyerapannya sangat bagus..Kalau yang minat fabric natural, this AI2 is for u..Jenis kat bawah ni pun AI2 sebab ada cover contoh brand Weegro..Leh letak samada insert organic/ letakkan pre-fold untuk serapan..

AI2 / COVER DIAPERS

After basuh CD, benda yang paling malas nak buat adalah nak stuff insert ke dalam pocket..Huhu.. Jadi, alternative untuk mommies yang kalau rasa sangat malas macam saya adalah dengan menggunakan All in One (AIO) CD.. Jenis AIO, insert dijahit sekali dengan CD cover..Tak yah dah nak stuff insert sambil mata macam mata panda (selalu stuff insert malam2)..Haha..Kalau nak feel stay dry, just keluarkan insert(bahagian fabric fleece) yang dijahit keluar ke atas CD..kalau nak stay natural, just put the insert ke dalam pocket..Untuk AIO, mommies leh tambah booster contohnya hemp ke dalam untuk penyerapan lebih bagus/ lama..For me, selalu pakaikan Adam AIO, Simplex by Swaddlebee waktu malam/ tidur..Plus, AIO simplex memang sangat fit/ ngam2 wooo..Hehehe..not so bulky..Fit at crotch..

Jadi, sebagai ibu bapa yang inginkan yang terbaik untuk anak anda, Jangan tunggu lagi untuk mula ber Cloth Diaper.. Permulaan untuk ber Cloth Diaper hanya lah anak anda, cloth diaper & sabun detergen yang sesuai..mudah kan?
